If I had to describe 2017, I’d say it was a year of learning. There were the fun bits: I got to travel to many places, I made new friends, strengthened other friendships and gained many new experiences.
But 2017 was also a year of many changes and challenges.
I naively thought that hitting my 30s meant I was finally an “adult”; that there wasn’t a whole lot to learn and even less to grow.
This year, I was humbled to find that I have so much more to learn – and a whole lot more growing up to do.
Took a long, hard look at 2017 before I wrote it a letter and finally bid it farewell. (Which is why this video is a few days into this fresh year.)
This has been long in coming, I know! It’s because I’ve taken ages to filling this space in the way I wanted…to be honest, it’s still not 100% complete and to me, still a work in progress, but amid the many requests I’ve decided to share it in its current state.
Full disclosure: This video is not sponsored, but some of the pieces were gifted by both of the above.
The others were mostly old pieces taken from my home!

Commentated a “live”netball match for the S.E.A. Games with Kelly Latimer, shot for wt+ with fun and crazy people like Nathan Hartono and Tabitha Nauser, and stuffed my face with dry ramen at Kajiken and then with cake at Shop Wonderland.
Forced to eat Peruvian at TONO Cevicheria (it was actually really yummy!), shot the very straight-talking Cynthia Koh (check out the full video out on DELLAA!) and celebrated the younger brother’s birthday for the second time (he turned 21; it is momentous!).
Found time for date night with the husband at COMO Dempsey, and spent a weekend away at a camp with my teammates – it was filled with a yummy BBQ, some embarrassing dancing and a lot of fun.
Finally rounded off the month with augmented reality rock wall climbing and what I consider to be the best Hakka yong tau foo in Singapore with Jamie Teo and back to work with some nonsense times in the DELLAA office with the imps, plus shooting a podcast with Andie Chen (video on that out next week!)
This was July and there was a lot of fun and a lot travelling!
Went to Hong Kong for RISE (where I met Gary Vee (Vaynerchuk)!) and headed to Penange for Sara and Vernon’s super fun and epic 3-day wedding bash.
Back to Singapore where I caught The xx live, visited Pat Law and her team at the GOODSTUPH office and hung out over magaritas and tacos with the girls at Vatos Tacos.
Took the dad (and mum!) out for Father’s Day lunch at Umi + Vino, partied hard at Ultra Singapore, and found time to finally check out the Dairy Farm Trail (too short and overly hyped by my friends).
Started violin lessons (thanks, Aureus Academy!), pigged out at Long Phung (that’s the yummy Vietnamese food at Joo Chiat) and also at Hana Restaurant for flying noodles and cheese sushi.
A lot of baby time this month too with baby Noah and Luke – plus my niece, Natilin, was born and I have been named Godma!
And of course, a lot of fun times with the netball crew from the two teams I play for, Speed and Dynamix, and hung out at Elliot’s place to place for a very intense board game night with the Tree Potatoes (still find the fidget spinner lame though).
(PS: This is long overdue!
My honeymoon was in 2016, a year after we got married, and here is the video, a year after that. LOL. Better late than never, right?)
