Ahhh fashion bloggers. On their blogs and on their Instagram feeds, they look good in every picture; always stylish and put-together in their outfits. What happens though when you challenge a fashion blogger to style an outfit on the fly, with a mystery item? Is it all just her designer items that look good or can she work a trash bag? Find out in this fun challenge!
In this episode, I hang out with fashion blogger, Willabelle Ong of Pale Division and challenge her to style an outfit with a trash bag as the main focal point.

Recently shot new episodes of styleXstyle TV, and here’s some of the crazy that happens behind the scenes of every shoot with this fun team!
That elegant lady is Jacq, the director behind the episodes!
They told me to pick out a pair of shoes for the shoot. I love sneakers and I was dying over all the bright colours and prints! Decisions, decisions…
Extremely mind-blowing stuff going on here. This is exactly how I pick out my shoes at home – I take one side of a pair I think may work and because I’m too lazy to actually put it on, I just hold it up and squint a bit as I imagine how the whole outfit will look.
Yellow won by default over coral as the white-with-blue polka dots were out of my size, boo.
This was actually pretty awkward, although I tried my best. Jacq asked me to dance, but already I have two left feet and am a terrible dancer (although I still love killing everyone’s eyes and going for it on the dance floor – too bad for you!); and then they’d cut the music so I was basically bopping around to a made-up song in my head. Not good.
Tried to look model-ly instead but hmmm. All in the edit – make me look good k, Jacq!! (Knowing her and Sharon though, and their sense of humour, they’ll show all the terrible geeky/goofball moments.)
These guys are really great though. =) They make working fun!
Pretty epic one-shot-walking shot. Everything has to go just so when doing such a shot – lines have to be smooth, everyone has to look up and look natural at the right moment, no video-bombers in shot (true story!) and no tripping from the poor camera guy who has his eye on the lens and not where he’s going.(also true story!). Definitely no one-take wonder with this kind of shot!
The boys give me a lesson on what men really prefer you to wear on a date – take their advice at your own risk!
This continues from the previous episode where Elliot and fellow Tree Potatoes, Foxy and Aaron showed up at my place to give me a fashion lesson (and a rude shock!) while I was filming an episode of ChicPeek at home. (I invaded Elliot’s place previously; check out the full video on the Tree Potatoes’ channel here if you haven’t!)

A few weeks ago, I invaded Elliot’s place to give him a surprise makeover (check out the full video on the Tree Potatoes’ channel here if you haven’t), and to get back at me, he rounded up his fellow Tree Potatoes, Foxy and Aaron, to take revenge. The lot of them showed up at MY place to give me a fashion lesson (and a rude shock!) while I was filming an episode of ChicPeek at home.
Very naughty.

It’s been so warm lately here in Singapore! Not complaining (well, not really) as at we’ve had some rain and the haze is no longer a huge problem (till the full wave comes mid-year *gulp*). When I look at my photos from my travels to places like the US when it was cold there, I am especially grateful for the eternal summer situation we have here in the tropics. Sure, you can’t layer as much, and my favourite beanies don’t get to see a lot of wear time, but I’ll take the warmth and sunshine; being able to run out in shorts and a singlet; supple skin that’s not parched from the cold; days spent hanging at the beach – over that any day.
That said, here’s one of my slouchy get-ups from NYC in spring when it was finally starting to get a little warmer. This was in front of the Roman Catholic church, St Peter’s, in the Tribeca area where I stayed. I attended mass here the whole time I was there, and I liked how the priest was very inclusive – he made it a point to welcome everyone and to make mention of the fact that regardless of race, nationality, financial situation and sexual orientation, all were welcome and encouraged to come seek peace and solace there. =)
In conjunction with Dorothy Perkins, I invited Velda Tan and Jean Danker on this special episode on ChicPeek with a challenge – take one Style Essentials piece (here, it was the Lace Top) and style it a few ways. Best style wins!
