A few weeks ago, I invaded Elliot’s place to give him a surprise makeover (check out the full video on the Tree Potatoes’ channel here if you haven’t), and to get back at me, he rounded up his fellow Tree Potatoes, Foxy and Aaron, to take revenge. The lot of them showed up at MY place to give me a fashion lesson (and a rude shock!) while I was filming an episode of ChicPeek at home.
Very naughty.

‘Kena’ a ‘red bomb’ (received a wedding invitation) and dreading the expensive red packet you have to ‘bao’ (pack)? Not sure how much money to give at weddings?
Here in Asia, we typically give red packets filled with an amount of cash rather than wedding presents, which is more of a Western tradition. The amount to put in always takes a bit of figuring out – too much and you might look a bit of a show-off (plus most people aren’t that flush with cash to be able to just put a whole lot without feeling a real pinch); too little and you look like a cheapskate or a bad friend/relative.
As always, I do the dirty for you and ambush people on the streets in Singapore to find out how they figure this social situation out.
You can thank me later. Or you can ‘bao’ me an angpow in gratitude too.

Ah. The age of the #selfie. These days, being able to look good in selfies is (almost) as important as looking good in real life – we’re in this time where if it’s not posted and people can’t see/like it, it isn’t REAL.
Potential employers now review social media accounts before hiring – so how you present yourself is crucial! A flattering profile photo can give your social life a boost as well (think dating apps). In this day and age, there’s no doubt that having a great profile picture is a real advantage in life.
Of course there’s things like finding your best angle, getting the lighting right and makeup that looks best in photos are important, but what about your hair? Hair frames your face and can make the difference between a good picture and a great one, so with some tips from blogger, Eunice Annabel and her gorgeous head of hair (and her beautiful selfies – I’m a fan!), learn to use your crowning glory to capture the best version of yourself.
But first, let me take a selfie.
With special thanks to guest star Eunice Annabel for her time & tips.
Welcome to my home – again! You saw it before (in case you didn’t, check it out in its pre-renovation state here), and this time, you get to see it all dressed and done up.
This project took almost a year to complete as there was major renovation work to be done. A loft level was built from scratch; the piping had to be re-done; many electrical points were out of whack, plus old pieces of furniture (some call them junk) had to be restored, and still other pieces were lovingly sourced and shipped back from all over the world. Then there was major unpacking and arranging – special thanks to my partner for doing most of that!

International Pillow Fight Day happened on 5th April, and Singapore held it’s own edition of it along Haji Lane. I went down hoping to have a good time (albeit with some apprehension, I admit). I certainly didn’t expect the mayhem and the kind of crazy fun we all had that day – having a go at complete strangers like children; laughing and shrieking like a mad person till I got a mild asthma attack; feathers flying all over Haji Lane. Made some new friends, shared many laughs, and had an altogether great time. My birthday was the next day on the 6th, and this was the perfect pre-party.
Thanks everyone for the fun!
