East Coast Enchantment

East Coast Park is one of my favourite places in Singapore. It’s not the most isolated spot – certainly not the most pristine – but I find that every time I am away from our sunny island for a period of time, I miss our humble beach. Perhaps it’s because I grew up in the east and have so many happy memories of playing at the beach almost every weekend as a kid; perhaps because I go to East Coast a few times a week these days to run/skate/chill – it just feels like home to me. Just had two picnics there over the long weekend! (Where DID that long weekend go, by the way?!)

Love the floral embroidery on these denim shorts!

Grown-up Child

So this is an extremely belated post (the exhibition at the ArtScience Museum is gone!), but in my defense it’s because I only just found the pictures! Went with my cousin who I grew up with (we were born just two hours apart); remember spending hours playing with Lego together when we were kids – we never made anything close to the level of art displayed though!

The exhibition, very aptly called The Art of the Brick, was done by Nathan Sawaya, a man with a playful imagination who is not only very skilled in creating structures out of Lego bricks, but also manages to provoke thought and bring out our inner child with his works.
